it will eat rust to an extent, if you want to get rid of it completly weld new metal in. its good stuff which i rate highly but its no miracle worker.

So if youve got small surface rust patches, this would be a decent product to use on them?

i did as above with the inside of my roof skin then gave it three coats of POR 15 (available from frost) it is top stuff they use it in the marine industry, it seals any rusted area permanently and actually gets harder in damp areas, it says on the tin "avoid contact with skin as only time will remove it, our permanent means permanent", ive still got some specles on my arm from three months ago!!! this is some serious shit and i cant recommend it enough!!!!

Agreed, to be honest if your looking to get rid of rust the only true way to do it is to remove the entire panel, which isn't always possible.

Rust forms in very thin and long lines well before it ever comes to light a panel has rust in it, if its something like a wing or a quarter then it can usually be salvaged but once rust has set into structural items like chassis rails you are fighting a losing battle, you may delay things but it will inevitably rot away sometime.
