Default Pro Alloys s2 Turbo coolant cooler...

Anybody run one?

How much does it help water temps??

I have the 1st generation pro alloy intercooler with a recent new ford rad.

Are the turbo coolant coolers still £100?? Mike.

What mix or water/antifreeze did you have when adding it?

it doesn't say you can't use antifreeze with it, only gives you guidelines for mixes for RACING purposes

I had 50/50 mix and added the whole bottle of water wetter, done the job lovely

It did make a difference to mine, 110% over and over prooven to matey's at Norfolk meet cos it used to get rather hot, but was fine with the additive

Alex emailed them as it never said if you could and they said it should only be added to water

You should make your own mix and start knocking it out if it works lol! As water wetter did definatly not work in both our cars

Water wetter will NOT make a difference to the TEMPERATURE of an engine, if the thermostat is working correctly. Thats not what it's supposed to do. And a low reading temp gauge does not always mean things are good. I run a 92 stat in the winter.

I mean to say

The temps did not rise silly high on the gauge, when water wetter was added it sustained a 'normal' peak temp instead of rising so high it became a worry

I'm fitting a non-turbo mk4 radiator, with my IC setup I think I can make room. I'm also pluging the turbo water on the in-side of the radiator.

Good idea that if you can get it to fit

Massive size difference, how are you going to 'T' in the water from turbo?

I'm not 100% sure, but aren't the cores thinner on these?

Thanks for the comments

Don't have any temp problems as yet.... but it is FREEZING outside at the mo!!

I have an 82 degrees stat but just hate the way the intercooler blocks all of the rad, and just worried it may cause issue's in the summer.

Think i'll definatly be taking the 2 fans that come with the pro alloy cooler off it and putting them directly onto the rad and will just wait for summer to see how the temps go from there

Drilling a hole in the plastic tank and screw in a hose barb with som glue. I was planning to do this in the tank where the water enters the radiator so no water will go uncooled into the engine.

What water wetter does is to make the water more "wet" so the water covers more surface. This will transfer more heat from the metal and to the water and from the water through the radiator and to the air. Can be used with only water since it inhibbits corrosion and with water and anti freeze. Water has better cooling properties than anti freeze, so pure water and water wetter will be the best option when there is no chance of the water freezing. This is what I use in the summer.
