Default Final Engine Pics and FAO Karl

Ok the finished engine...

Karl...just looked at the plugs after a 30mile run and the rim is black but the center is whitish....i know i am running in and not thrashing it..but is that right?I am guessing i am running a good lean AFR economy....Cant check the AFR till tuesday when i get the tail pipe pole.....

...in theory power could hit around 520bhp according to Karl ..all that from a 7.9-1 comp engine The car drives unbeleivable...much better than any other map i have used its just perfect IMO I aint brown nosing but to have an off the shelf chip thats 95% there on 1000cc injectors and the rest of my spec is astonishing

phil, did you chop the plugs straight after a full load run, or did you pull em outafter it'd been left to idle fo a few secs? as the condition of the plug tells you nothing abou the AFR if its been left to idle

also why are you waiting for a tailpip probe for your LC1? do you know you can use it to replace the std lambda? so you could put it in the stock location (as long as it doesnt hit >1300*C )

Weld a boss in the downpipe not use a tailpipe probe, you get a far more accurate reading, and a more recent one too.

Tailpipe is a real bodge by comparison, even more so on a ameteur sensor that isnt aware of tail winds like Stu's fancy one.

You would be better off without it.

When the engine rocks you want that pipe to move with the engine, not stay in place relative to the car.

If you must supoprt it for some reason, make a bracket that comes off the rocker cover or something.

...chip if you read i said LOOSELY which means i have taken into account engine movement and imo is satisfactory....also the tail pipe thing for the LM1 is patented and a very special design having seen it i have no fear of using it...thanks for your concern though.
