Default RS500 Front Bumper (group buy)

THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE POST.

Ive been looking for a 500 bumper for my track car for ages, but lets face it GENUINE ones are mega bucks.

Ive found a guy that has a Genuine One and is willing to make a mould of it, He has 30 years in the Glass Fibre trade and says he can make an IDENTICAL copy in GRP (fibreglass)

Ive seen pics of FUGEASS's one on here where the front splitter is part of the bumper.

This one the guy will make WONT be like that and will 100% be the same look of the orginal with the front splitter being a seperate part.

He asures me that quality would be great and come ready to paint unlike most other GRP parts.

Any Interest on the above as he would need around 10-15 people interested before making the mould

cheers

Hey there aint any pics as he aint made the mould yet, as he needs to know if there is enough interest to make it worth while.

The guy in question makes ALOT of parts for various race cars etc so is very good.

Prob looking at around £200 for the Bumper and £80 for the Lower Splitter, but id need to ask him.

Gav has prompted me to add that there is some fkin about to fit after market bumpers etc... i now have a box of Bumper irons from a touring car spares package that do the job very well . If you modify cars dont expect everything to "bolt " on it doesn't ! Ive had some successes with these carbon Kevlar ones tho and if you think laterally theyre easy to fit .

John Cross..... Now there's a name from the past. I raced him once at a Grass Track Event.... He was driving a Mk2 Rally Cross Escort with a BDG, and I was driving a Lotus Sunbeam, Had a really good tussle, he came first, and I got third. If you see him, ask him if he remembers coming the Portsmouth and racing at the old airport. Oh.... and he owes me a rear arch that he took off as he pushed his way through on one of the corners...... Great Driver, and always used to have very nice Rally Cross Cars. His must have been worth about 20k, mine was about 2k, but that was about twenty five years ago. I'm sure he'll remember as he was an invited guest, and turned up with one of his buddies who also had a BDG Mk2 Escort.

I'll do that Jim , i race with him still , he makes a lot of the lightweight panels that other racers use so on a raceday he nudges everyone to ensure plenty of work on the monday morning , lol .

The Splitters on my car above are carbon Kevlar copies and they look ok too
