I have an escort rst mfi turbo engine and my mate is interested in buying it for his fiesta xr2i but i dont know if it can be fitted???
Yes but the block will require drilling to accept a CPS (crank position sensor). I think (not 100% sure) that electronic coil pack from the XR2i can be reused so you will just need th eblanking bung for th ehead where the distributor would go
As Oranoco said, although there are other means of obtaining a CPS signal if you don't feel to clever with the drill. Im 99.9% sure the coil packs are the same but don't over look it. The cams fitted to FRST engines also produce a little more power than the cams fitted in the earlier MFI engines.
Don't forget you will also need to change the plug for the MAP sensor, and u will need to get a Marelli MAP sensor. I think thats all
