i wana build a 2.1 i want some low comp pistons but does any1 recomend any?also does it really matter what comp ratio i pick from the start?

also what sort of power are the standard rods good for but im not too bothered if i have to fit farndon ones or sumats!

the big question is the crank would it be ok to just have the standar one lightened and balanced?cus i would say a steel one would cost a bomb!

also any advice about building a 2.1 would be much appreciated!

 

A couple of routes spring to mind in determining what components you will need.

1st. Plucking a realistic figure out the sky and having your engine built to reliably run that power.

2nd. Spec bottom end to run more power than you need, with a view to unleasing its potential at a later date.

Ultimatly it all down to budget and what you can afford to spend or want to spend on your build.

 

I think there should be some kind of sticky for this - "Zetec Build FAQ's" or summit, because the amount of times it crops up is unreal!
