Default Centre vent heater control pods - help please

I am currently searching for a decent pod that asn't been broken where it screws in and the black backing has not gone 'spotty' if you get me

Though i was onto a winner today as found a 20k miles escort Ghia in scrappy today - of course took some well needed parts, put pod in tonight so can see how it lights up

OK, it lights up perfecto, but it's so much dimmer than the ones I have seen before

looked at the part numbers on the back and they are different

I presume there is a pod with a white control unit and one with a black control unit

Anyone else found this out or are you not just as fussy as I am??

i didn't like the dimmer one, looked out of place if you get me??

Mine is/was too, but it's gone 'spotty' where the backlighting is, so it looks like the sky at night - which I really don't want

Im not as fussy as you James

Come to think about it I dont think I have ever had mine light

I assume its not something as simple as bulb strength?

I do know what you mean about the pods breaking where they are screwed in though, I recon your on the right path with non RS's.

Not like anyone will have tapped into the wire that sits just behind to feed guages.

The bit on the back where the connection is, the gubbins of the whole thing

If it don't light up - bulbs are shot - nothing more
