OK, bringing this back to the top....

Not too keen on a Ford Motorcraft item So went to the local motor factors and they only sell Excide Battery's. Are these any good?

Anyway I got one coming tomorrow - Heavy Duty, 4yr Guarantee pre charged as above for £45.

Halfrauds wanted £65 for thier own version of the above

Personally as far as batteries go spend as much as you can afford to, as with everything you get what you pay for, the Calcium batteries are EXCELLENT, and go for a good make. As for size that all depends on what you have on the car, if yu have a big sound system get a bigger one, the battery i run on mine fills the try litterally, completely covers the holes for the side clamp, can only fit the front clamp I'f you dont have a mental sound system get a normal size one, its all extra weight, and especially with escort battery trays the less weight on them the better

I'm guessing they are around £150 - £200 odd quid by the looks of things, although they do sound good.

TBH, I dont have any sounds, just a head unit and standard speakers. So think it will be overkill.

It's still usefull though, having such a quick re-charge rate and also being able to be flattened, car batteries don't like being flattened and as such aren't meant to be, so when they do it quite often ruins them. If its not too much more it would be a good buy IMO.
