is it a problem to use a stainless steel inlet manifold on a cosworth like the on sib is selling on here the Swedish style ones would there be a problem with heat and flow and location of this inlet could some one explain I though alloy was better at heat transfer

I have one of these inlets and its top notch mate.As for alloy i think it makes it easy to split open its stainless due to strength.Mine was supplyed by reyland

Steve Scott blew his open like burst cigar when an enrichment charge ignited in the plenum prematurely when he hit the Nos....

Alloy may be better at heat transfer, but as the item is an inlet plenum not an Intercooler, and is on the cold side of the engine I really don't think this will be any form of issue at all.

The reason I've made this in stainless is on the grounds of strength - a friend has a 540bhp Escort Cossie, his ally plenum split twice. He now runs this same plenum with no problems.

As mentioned by EscosNige, he was supplied his plenum by Reyland, who in turn has bought it from us. I think that is fair endorsement

Currently on Ł165 which is bargain IMHO.

Any questions anyone has please fire away and I'll try and help out!

Top notch bit of kit and great value IMHO

Only thing i would say, its its important to have the bracket in place to the top of the engine mount, so there isnt too much weight on the head

Thanx Chip, kind of you to post. Chip bought the prototype one from me which is now on B9KOS's car.

The plenum being sold comes with a bracket welded on the underside to join up with the top of the engine mount in a similar way to the original inlet manifold.

As Chip has pointed out, you don't want the weight of the plenum, fuel rail, loom and injectors etc ripping the head bolts out!

R4N S S

Not up for retail sale at the mo as I'm not registered as a trader yet. Also getting website made and a whole lot of other blingy bits made as we speak. Looking to launch tail end of April hopefully.

Zoo one is Ł350 + iirc in ally
A1 one is Ł350
Some Swedish ones are that and more.

The current one on ebay is Ł165. No reserve either so what it goes for it goes for.

Cheers

The only thing I would say is that an inlet plenum needs to be designed on a flow bench to give equal flow to all cylinders. If this has not been done and more air gets to one particular one, then unless you have an ECU that can trim fuel for individual cylinders, it will melt . The Swedish ones that I sell have been tested on an engine dyno and flow bench to get the optimum spread of air between the four cylinders .

Regarding the alloy plenums that have failed, these have all been inferior copies of the Swedish ones. There has never been a Swedish plenum supplied by me that has failed in any way, shape or form .
