Default Fao Electrical bods!

I've got a Sony Bullet cam to fit to the bike to aid the prosecution

It comes with a little 8 x AA battery pack to run it but I'd rather run it from the bikes battery.

I assume I wont be able to run it straight from the battery due to the varience in voltage due to charging/load?

The camera needs a 12v DC input with 120mA power consumption.

Is it a regulator I need to keep the voltage constant? Anyone know a good place to get one???

Thanks in advance

Video and audio mate

I got mine on Ebay from this guy

And I'm using a Archos AV400 PVR to record although you could use a digital camcorder with AV in or a laptop

It should be ok Lee,you already have a regulator on the bike to stop any voltage spikes and the camera will probably work with anything from about 9-15 volts pretty safely...

Cheers mate, you think it'll be ok?

It says any more than 10% deviance from 12v will cause 'abnormal operation' so that's 10.8v-13.2v and I haven't checked the battery but I'd expect to see circa 13.8v when it's running.

I guess I'll have to suck it and see

I`ve found it tends to be more like 15-20% mate with the ones i`ve used so you might be ok.....

If you want to be safe....get a 12V voltage regulator from maplins.

Theyre pennies, and the pinouts are in the book.
