inlet manifold

Default inlet manifold

my s2 has got the wrong inlet manifold on where the knock senser plugs in its just got a pipe going to master cylinder been told it is ok 2 drive it like this at the moment it has got a s1 ecu in it but i am putting a s2 1 in it 2morrow. so do i need 2 get a new inlet manifold aswell

Um, you just have an early inlet, not all RST's had a knock sensor, that pipe is meant to be there - do not unplug or unscrew it

Do you have a knock sensor plug wired in??
btw, it actually goes to the servo - NOT master cylinder

oh right it as all the wiring for a knock senser tho my old s2 was a 88 that had knock senser if i swap the ecus will it mess up the timing

The pipe from inlet (black one) goes to servo - don't touch it

as far as the other, I really don't know mate

the knock sensor goes below the pipe for the servo !!

some early rst's didn't have knock sensors as said above !
does yours have a green multi plug near the inlet manifold then?

Its all relevant to wether or not the ecu your about to fit requires the sensors or not?

yes the ecu i am gona fit is hearts and diamonds so i do need to change inlet manifold 4 1 with a knock sensor or it will mess up the timing thats if i have been told right just cant figure out why it has got the wrong parts on in the first place

IVE JUST PUT A NEW ZVH IN MY S2 AND INLET MANIFOLD HASNT GOT A KNOCK SENSOR IN BUT MY OLD ENGINE HAD ONE WILL I BE OK OR WILL IT NOT RUN RIGHT
