Default mk4 escort adjustable roll bar setup

i got this on my mk4 but noticed that the tie rod is dam close to the rst gearbox and if i hit a bump it would touch, the car is about -50 from rst hight so im just gonna take it -30 which is a bummer.
just wondered if anyone knew what gearboxs fords rally team ran in the mk4 escorts with this tie rod setup??

Did the Ford Rally Team run that set-up?? I can't imagine it.

That is a Turbo-Technics conversion. Myself, Tony Turbo and a couple of others on here run them. As I understand it, it was a kit that was retro-fitted to non-turbo Mk4's when they had TT conversions in the late 80's.

Not sure what has happened to the fitment of yours, but mine is nowhere near the gearbox. Must just be to do with the 50mm drop. That's FAR too much for an RST IMO and will detract from the performance benefit of fitting this ARB set-up anyway.

HTH.

The TT in the TT2000 part number embossed in the casting stands for Turbo Technics!

Hope you get it sorted OK.

not a chance, im keeping it on the car, its ideal because you can add caster for running bigger wheels.

If you look close, it has a lip on the left hand side of pic where the gearbox cradle would be

i paid Ł150 for mine but i spent Ł50 getting it powder coated.
wouldnt sell it at all as they are rare as muck and everyone wants em.
even if someone offered me Ł500 i wouldnt take it.
sometime you know when you've got a good thing and its worth keeping.

The only bad thing about the whole set-up is the ball joints on the front end are no longer available

Ford rallied the Mk3 Escort so had the 16i set up for a short time

And that ARB does look similar to me Paul

the anti roll bar is the same as rs1600i but the cast cradle is specially designed for the mk4
