Default The car has died--Need help

Not the engine though

Just driving along about 20 minutes ago and i flashed the headlights. The car just died!!
All that came on the dash was the red battery light and then it stoped. There is no dashboard lights and the car turns over but wont fire.

I have checked all the blade fuses under the bonnet and they are fine, could it be the ignition rely, if so where is it???

Also when i took the ECU cover off the Earth strap that goes on the screw of the ECU wasnt connected, would this of coursed it???

Help need please

Have you checked the voltage on the battery Tiff? If so, what is it?

Doesn't matter if your battery is brand new if it is not being charged

if it's the same as a saff, litterally put ya hand up behind the glove box and you should feel a load of relays, pull them down and you will find 2 yellow ones, 1 is the main realy and the other 1 (with fuse inline with ti) is the fuel pump relay.

they are both the same so you could try swapping them round and see if anything is different.

It could be your alternator but then the car would be compleely flat and not turn over or nowt...

sounds like a ECU prob, either a feed to it or a sensor down.

you need a relay tester... or get a new one.

didnt you say that when you fitted some new head lamps ,you had problems getting them to work?that might be causing the problems you have now.check the earth points on the front chassis rails one on each side.also check the loom multi plug under the bonnet for good connection, common fault
