hi newbie with pics
hi im paul, im 22 and i drive an escos that has been featured in both fast ford and redline mag. i also drive an alfa 75 with a yb lumpthat runs 506.6bhp most of the time at 1.8bar boost but with nos hooked up and the boost cranked up i got a 642bhp on the rollers although the engine has never run this way off the rollers and was a one time thing.
any way the escos was featured in the mags back in 2000 just before its first birthday as it was built late in 99 from new parts including a new shell from ford although the dvla wouldnt recognise that all the parts were 1993 spec its been put on a Q plate. the car from scratch cost 26k to build and this is the spec:-
engine
2-litre yb 200block with fully balanced steel bottom end with 8.2.1 compression with F1 rod bolts, and cosworth forged pistons
group A oil pump, baffled sump,
ex andy rouse toca cylinder head, im not sure on exactly which cams it has at present
vernier pulleys
arp long stud and nut kit
WRC head gasket
RS 500fuel system with 8 greens and group A pumps
Garret T4 with double oil seals tested to 51psi and 360degree bearing
RS 500 intercooler
stainless magnex twin exhaust,
ex andy rouse toca induction pipes,
k&n air filter,
3 bar map sesor,
3 port breather system
bailey anodised alloy header tank, swirl pot, steering fluid resovior and catch tank
bayjoo mapped P8ecu with S.E.C.S dash mounted monitor.

transmission
quife big tooth internals and gripper diffs
suspension
leda group A adjustable coilover struts front and rear, 350lb, 8inch front springs and 300lb, 10inch rears, graham goode racing poly bushes all round, rear axle tightening kit, front and rear strut braces

370mm vented and grooved front discs with ex WRC subaru AP 6 pot callipers, 300mm rear discs standard callipers. lockheed braided hose kit and dot 5.1 brake fluid
wheels 8x18in gold team dynamic monzas with 225/40 rubber
exterior
morette quad head light conversion, gold badges, clear front indicators,side repeaters and smoked rear lenses, ford special order RS black paint
interior
full cosworth lux leather, momo steering wheel with raid snap off boss kit, 3 point harness, cosworth embossed sill covers, boost gauge and secs monitor







the car is runnig 454 bhp and 448 ftlbs done at interpro, it has also just done 26601 miles also.

must be a fookin weapon with YB in it?? PLEASE tell me you still have the transaxle gearbox set up in it>??
My mate also had a guilietta witha a 270BHP 3 litre V6 in it a while ago, that was awsome as well

yeah i still got teh transaxle set up but getting everything to work is a right arse and very expensive!! the actual conversion took about 12 months as the front end was cut welded moved bashed and pulled to get a descent position for it as things like cross members had to be re manufactured etc
the alfa has done 11.6@131 at pod so yeah it shifts lol as i said ill get some pics and specs up if your interested

ok the insurance i have is fullt comp with the mods listed, i have a gf on the policy as well. i got 3 non fault accidents, had 3 points in 2001 and my insurance do it in the last 5 years, limited to 3000 miles as i use an st170 daily and i payŁ1300 with elephant.
im not to sure about the cossie but im told the guy who built it ran a 12.1 when he was playing with cams etc but i havent got it to thrash it around every where i got it because i really like it so i doubt it will see pod under my ownership.
i dont have a close up with the wheel off but i do have pics of the calliper as i took it off last weekend and its bigger than a motorbike boot that fits a size 12 foot so its about a size 16 if you can compare that lol


as for the alfa its just struck me that i dont really have many pictures of it ive only got a couple. the engine pic was when the engine first went in running 505.6bhp on 8 greens



but the specs are fairly similar to the escort engine wise, except its running 27mm vavle ports lower 7.5.1 compression bd 14 and 15 cams tougherided crank h section conrods,same spec t4 as the escort but only running 1.8bar and i cant remember the rest ill have to get the engine spec from field motorsports who built it but it runs p8 ecu and pectel monitor forge rs500 intercooler genuine rs 500 hosses and injector plenem. 3 inch side exit unsilenced exhaust.
it has RSR coil overs tuned in by RSR at the nurburgring so it handles fairly well 32mm front anti roll bar, trans axle colloti 5 speed gearbox which means the gearbox is in the back of the car not on the back of the engine for anybody who doesnt know. quaife lsd diff 8x18 mo6 alloys with dunlop control semi slicks,
brakes, porsche 4 pots on the front with 360mm discs, rear inboard brakes SZ conversion
group A ITCC front bumper and splitter made out of carbon fibre. carbon fibre bonnet, carbon fibre front wings, carbon fibre boot lid poly carbonate windows excluding screens.
cut and removed all excess metal as in spare wheel well now complete floor and when the cage gets done the inner wings will be gona along with most of the floor which will be replaced with perferated steel.
but the plans are as follows. im talking to martin hadland about building me another engine with 800+bhp with nos and then im having the engine moved to behind the seats so its mid mounted but that wont be till late this year early next so hopefully the car will run low 10s if not 9s at pod
the car at the mo is 570bhp on the greys with out the nos and weighs only 880kg with out driver therefor around 800bhp/tonne i think.
