s2 brake pad question

Default s2 brake pad question

ordered some pads and discs last week for my dads series 2

got them today tarox pads but they have the wires coming out of the pads for the wear meter

is this right i didnt think the series 2's had them on the brakes ?

Don't think any of the S2's came with pad wear indicator. S1's did though

Give the company you got them from a bell they should explain things or sort you out the correct part if they have been supplied wrong. Even the best of us drop clangers from time to time

are the pads the same ie can we just cut the wires off ???????

understand tho its best to ring them up

yes just cut the wires off and dont worry about it... a lot of places make em all with the wires on em as its easier than making 2 seperate sets for the cars with/without wear indicators

check theyre the right pads before doing this as if they sent you some for a different car completely youll be a bit fooked just compare them to your old ones, easiest way

yes mate, all the pads ive bought for s2 have the wires

once uve confirmed they are right size, cut em off

thanks guys i thought they would be s1 pads i said to my pops just to lop em off when he is changing them

should i say when I am changing them

yep just cut em off the reason they have em is because the s2 uses xr4i brakes and they have a brake pad sensor

ok gonna do the discs and pads tommorow

is there anything i could do with knowing ie changing them ?

any certain way of doing it ?

how long to change the discs and pads both sides please ?
