the best? there's only one way.

u have to slacken each of the 12 nuts which clamp the housings to the core (6 each side) and then rotate them. The compressor will move pretty easy, but the exhasut housing will prob need a lot of persuation.

just undo the bolts on the housings and turn.

it will be dificult to get a the bolts etc.. but it can be doneyou may need to use the bolts to force open the housing a bit so it may be easier to spin.

just remember to keep the oil feed in the same place and spin both ends.

have you another turbo to see where to line up the housings, may help you.

Be VERY careful you dont fuck the exhaust blades when you attempt to free off the housing, use a bolt each side to push the housings apart equally or you will damage the blades if you do it incorrectly..

Just be patient Dan........use the bolts to ease the housings apart, just try and keep em fairly straight........once you got it apart you can clean up the housing join so it spins freely, they are not mega delicate you just need to avoid any bending of the exhaust blades..

could be loose from vibration ( lack of damper or worn shaft ?? )

and yes on a standard escos the housings are at a different angle
