Opinions......if you please
been having a chat with my mate tonight who is an owner of a calibra turbo which pushes in the region of 300bhp. Now the arguement is:
Would a 300bhp calibra turbo be quickier over a mile than a 300bhp escort RS Turbo?both cars would be running standard gear ratio's.
whats your opinions. Now i personally believe the calibra would be quickier over the forst quater but the escort would ctath in the later stages as the calibra struggles after about 120mph
cheers all a11ova

I think the Escort would take it - purely from a power to weight ratio. Having never weighed either I can't say with certainty but I would imagine the Escort is some way lighter than the Calibra.
Ive had cav turbo's before and id say the rst would beat the calibra turbo over the mile in the dry, due to power to weight. But not by much in my opinion.
But in the wet, and/or with some corners involved then it would definatly be a different story, and the calibra would win hands down.
And as said above, the calibra wouldnt struggle over 120 mph. They can acheive over 150 mph as standard and a 300 bhp turbo will just pull and pull to the red line, no problem.
