I dont think the MAD camp what to play

T4 turbo,i have decieded to stick to a PROPER one,no arsing about with mods and reliability issues...just touring car style....a solid 500plus BHP on pump fuel is deffo on the cards combined with high compression, well in the sense of using this turbo and 32psi flat till 8000rpm!Torque should go around 430ft lb....not major because i cant run a boost spike due to comp ratio.....if i could a 40psi spike like a low comp then 480 ft lb is a reality, but i settled for drivability

So you reckon your gonna be able to run 32psi held at that comp (7.9:1 right?) on pump gas?

Without retarding the timing so much that youd be better off running 25psi and more timing?

Don't worry, I said the same thing, but he is sure he can run this boost with a T4 on that c/r .

I've already told him it will need to be more retarded than he is .

I think your gonna have serious issues running a 7.9:1 car at 32psi held.

Good call on the EscCos tho, leave it as it is, thats a good fun spec

sounds good phil I want excellent off boost drivability as well, not a top end screaming lag-monster, so I will be very interested in this as I am looking to run 8.5-1 on a GT35, so will be good to see how yours turns out. What pistons are you using? When is the mapping due to happen?

A lower comp car will have a LOT more low down than a high comp one on pump fuel as you can safely run much higher boost, and boost means torque.
And thats why all these high comp jap turbo lumps aint got any.

No dyno figures as that isnt a true figure I thought NMS's used the arse dyno?

Steve you have it all wrong on why i am higher compression...the boost wont come in till 4k similar to a GT35 one so below this on low comp it will be flat as a fart i know i been there trying to pull out of junctions!!!This more std comp will drive like a std Cossie...lovely.

Aduz i am both

Wil....i was going your route (gt35)....BUT the maximum you can run on pump fuel will be around 550bhp...so i looked at my comp ratio and bought what i thought was the best turbo for the situation...the T4.As its only a road car i wanted power/reliability/drivability.....Although the GT35 would bring the same kinda results as the T4 it is more unreliable, needs much more attension, plus is a right arse to fit and more expensive plus have the ability for xtra bhp i just cant use.

IF however you plan to use race fuel then GT35 that ass

Phil dont mess about mate. Dyno is surely the best way of confirming your predicted figures. You may even be shockled and achieve better results than you are hoping for

So Rich lets pay 600 plus pounds for satifying a few people on a BB? The max power it could have is 530bhp...the minimum 380bhp The rollers will give that indication you all so desire.
