ive just fitted a new engine into my escort

went to fire it up but had no dash lights what so ever, no batt,no oil,no handbrake

anyone got any ideas what this could be as im stuck now lol

was ok 7 months ago when i stuck it in the garage

checked all the fuses

 

Is the rev counter / speedo / temp / fuel gauges working?

Did you remove the clocks as part of the engine change at all?

 

everything else works

didnt touch the clocks alls i did was change an engine

just dont have the red ignition lights at all

 

on the back of the clocks are two multi connectors. Is it possible one of them has been dislodged? Perhaps from the removal of the speedo cable?

Long shot, but its all I can think of.

 

doubt it mate but ill check

the speedo cable never got touched just engine swap no gearbox

ill have a look more into it once i get the turbo fitted again

Is your drivers side rear sidelight / brake light out? If so its a fuse.

 

ill have a check of that in a bit asweell then

checked all fuses and seem to be ok though but ill double check

 

all sorted

was a bloody fuse after all
