early XR4x4's had the Type 9 4x4 variant too

Yes indeed had a Type 9 ( but I think it had a longer tailshaft (?) than other Type 9s )

Mine broke coming back from Trax 96 ......

v6 one had what gracey said, T9 (sometimes called typeN i think)

the 2.0 mk2 ones (bqsically GLSes with a spoiler ) run MT75s

mt75 is a better box, the 4speed type 9 is quite strong though
