Default Boot lock problem on 1995 Ford escort s1 cabrio

I've only have this car 1 week. Previous owner had problems with lock on boot. I am unable to open boot. Is there a special locking system for the boot on this car? I'm told to use red master key but still no luck. I have 2 other keys but same problem. How can I get it opened? Can I get in through back seat?

I cannot open lock on boot door. Key turns in lock only, but i think lock mechism is stuck at bottom. I was reading car manual and you can only open rear seats by pulling a button in boot area with boot open. Any other way in opening rear seats?

excuse my ignorance, but I didn't know that there was a 1995 S1 cabrio?

apart from that - to answer your question.....

The seat on mk3, and mk4 and [presumably] later models only recline by using the seat release cable which is located in the boot of the car.

Default lOCK

I think he means Si not S1. I had troble with the boot lock before.

The only way to get into the boot through the cabin is to release the rear seats from the inside.

However you obivously cant do that.

you could however bend the rear part of the seat and reach in to get to the pull thing for the seats but it will reck them. (did this in a scrappy)

Maybe try unscrewing the seats though as if you were removing them.

I dont know if this helps - but i tried
