Default chipped ecu

just baught a chipped ecu of ebay thing is it is a 90spec hearts and diamonds mines blue red blue still got knock senser tho can i just straight swap it another thing is my knock sensor isnt connected is that ok

it is a straight swap, but the knock sensor MUST be connected, or u will get very strange things happening with the ignition timing.

oh ok thanks mate it hasnt been connected since ive had it and it has been a bit jerky just thought it needid setting up

Blue red blue is a series one ecu isn't it? they don't have knock sensors on them. you can run these on series 2 with no problems and they are meant to better that the series 2 ecu's they are more aggressive.

Yes as mentioned. The Blue Red Blue ECU is a Series 1 ECU with no knock control so by fitting a 90 spec ECU, you will have to reconnect the knock sensor. I would advise removing it from the manifold, plugging it in then cable tieing it up out of the way somewhere.

oh wonder why its got a s1 ecu in it then the knock senser wiring is there just not connected so can i just swap the ecu and not connect the knock senser thanks

i think you do have to connect the knock sensor because other wise the car will run flat. If you have a series2 then someone must of put the series1 ecu on it for a reason, is the ecu not chipped or anything already?

no the old ecu is not chipped so i got told when i bought it think there is sumat dodgy wid my car the inlet manifold doesnt have the clip 2 plug the knock sensor on where my old s2 did
