the 500s all started a s standard 3 doors then got converted by tikfords to 500 spec emagine what the store room full of 3 d00r bumpers turbos and spoilers would be worth

Quick translation for you all.

The Sierra Cosworth RS 500 was a noticeably version evolved from the Sierra Cosworth. Only 500 copies were constructed, all modified ones by the factory Tickford in Bedworth close to Coventry (GB). This Sierra RS 500 was announced in July 1987, completely sold in the following month and confirmed for the road and competition in August 1987.

The RS 500 was only available in driven to the right (RHD - Right Hand Drives), although you certain examples can be found on the continent. Some having been transformed by assistants in driven to the left (LHD - Left Hand Drives), as this was the case of the copies intend for the competition prepared by the swiss specialist Eggenberger.





THE ENGINE:
The principal difference with the Sierra Cosworth is how they adapted the motor to evolve towards the competition. These new characteristics were: The motor behaved a pad to partitions (?) and conduits of reworked water to withstand the constraints of the competition. A turbo compressor and a MORE IMPORTANT exchanger (intercooler) was added. In complement of the injection system was added a second rail of four injectors as well as a gas pump of stronger capacity. In reality, number of equipments were preinstalled regarding a usage in competition, well beyond 300 horses.

The authentic motors Cosworth RS 500 must be marked in the series between YBD0015 and YBD0537.



SUSPENSION:
Few evolutions affected the rolling trains or chassis. The cooling flow of the brakes was increased. The original chassis RS 500 nevertheless are marked in the series between GBBE GG 38600 and GBBE GG 39099



BODY AND DRESS
The Sierra RS 500 had only evolutions minors on the exterior plan in comparison with the Sierra RS Cosworth.
The rear fin was completed by an additional inferior spoiler on the hatch.





This Cosworth was decorated discreetly with RS 500 badges on the hatch and on the wings like before. The shield before had been redesigned and it had been added him a supplementary opening and a small spoiler climbing back up on the passages of front wheels and destined to fold back a little more fresh air. For a model in excellent states, count 23 000 EUR.. The models again rarer, as those of eggenberger that prevailed in the competitions of production cars on circuit, surpass by far this price floor.
