changing the sump on a 4x4 cossie?
a mates front prop snapped the uj at the diff end and smashed a few bits so i offered to sort it, tried to fit the new diff in and the mounts out of the sump are all bent, the book time for remove and refit is 2.5 hours
by the looks of it you'd need to support the engine and drop the subframe but does it need to come completely out or will it drop far enough its more work than i have time really can anyone advise?
thanks kris

M8 if you already have the diff out etc then it is possible to do it in 2.5 hours
But tbh you more like looking at 4 hours
done mine recently
it is easier to drop the sub frame and disconnect the power steering pipes though

its a bit of a nightmare mate, as said.I did mine with a mate over a weekend a couple of years back(damn oil pump drive rounded
). We did it by basicaly un doing everthing underneath, lift the front end real high, and kinda wheel the whole engine, box, suspension, brakes and wheels out from under the car like a big wheel barrow!....its a grim task
...we had bits everywhere
....its all good in the end tho mate..good luck

grim job indeed - did the same on an old V6 4x4 sierra that the front prop went on, while doing the naught side of 100mph
started at 5pm and finished the job at 6am - that was with using a pit aswell and airtools etc etc
never again
