Will this take out much of the strength of the shell if i remove this?

a small amount of weight yes, but imo thats not why hes doing it, i know i wouldnt

i know a guy that removed hes to fit a battery tray for 4 yellowtops............

works well too

Mine has been plated over and then braced from underneath.
You'd be suprised on how much the wheel well weighs and it looks pukka!
Its just your knackered if you get a puncture!
