1995 Escort SI Cabrio. I'm not familar with this type of car. Is this a special model car? How many were built? Some were 115bhp & 130bhp, is this correct? How many colours were these cars manufactured in 1995? Mine is silver with a black vinyl roof.

 

not especially a special model, ford put some of the stock of 130PS engines in the earlier ones along with the uprated braking system.
yours should have a wingback interior (winged seats) possibly whitre dials and lovely 14" 5 star alloys. do you have a 5b (grille in bonnet early shape lights or a 6 oval grille rounded head lights?

 

I have winged back interior & matching front bucket seats, no white dials, don't have original alloy wheels and have oval grille. Thanks for all that information.

Alloy wheels and tyres on the car at the moment are 185/60 r15. Original alloy and tyres was 185/60 vr 14 on 130 bhp models. I think depth of tyre should be 50 not 60? Does this effect the handling of the car?

 

won't make much difference on standard sus, 195/50/15's are technically the correct ones, although a set of 205/40/17's and a suspension upgrade will improove handling no end
