Default phase sensor fitting

just got a new phase sensor and was wondering if its a simple case of take of and refit, my mechanic told me that its not as simple as you need to set it or somthing :S

hows it done? thanks

You need to set the gap between the sensor and the lug on the dizzy shaft.

Think its about .4mm but cant remember for certain off hand, should be in the manual though.

Thats .33mm or so, so roughly the same as i remembered, so sounds about right to me mate.

TBH if you get it wrong, its quite obvious generally IME!

0.13 is good for big power cossies and normal mine is set at this and never have the spark blown out what so ever and got info from a good sorce

The power thats being run isnt relevant to the optimum phase sensor gap (although RPM effects it slightly i should imagine) and the phase sensor gap has nothing at all to do with wether the spark gets blown out or not.

Are you sure you arent confusing it with plug gap? If so .013" sounds a little low to me personally.

manual says 0.2-0.3mm

CPS is 0.4-1.0mm

dissagre my friends sorry mines set at this and so is most of my other engines i have built with my partner in crime and dont have any probs
i aint gonna argue cos its sillly but if yours is setup that they its fine
