Default Oil coolers on Fiesta....

Couple of Q's....

1. Where have you mounted it?

2. How many rows did it have?

Gonna be putting 1 on the RS1800 as at last years track days in the warmer months the oil was getting upto 140'c by the end of 20 minute sessions.

Cheers in advance
Steve

I bought a 16 row then realised that there was no room to fit it anywhere decent!
Took the bonnet catch off and mounted it inbetween radiator and bumper but due to lack of space only half of it is open to airflow.
I will be taking bumper off at some point and modding it so i can mount it better.

Dont know what oil temps ive been getting but its better than nothing with where its fitted now!

Probably won't be done by then....... as tbh I don't think the outside temps will be hot enough to require the extra cooling

Yesterday I was looking oil cooler again.

Besides burtonpower's rule of thumb, cant get a more precise starting point to know how big oil cooler I need for my FRST.

If you use a termostat (opens at 80şC) on the oil cooler circuit, then go the bigger oil cooler you can fit. Since I dont really want to use termostat, need to know what is the smallest oil cooler needed (its always going to be cooling down the oil and dont want it to go anything lower than 80şC).

Also looking at this mate since I have to use 14" and have upgraded my brakes using fiesta mk6 calipers and discs (259mm). Since it seems that there isnt yet any performance pad for this calipers, things will really need the extra cooling down.

I've fitted a 13 row cooler to my XR2 which is perfect it fits into the smile space.

A 10 row cooler is suffiencent for the job and wont take up too much room
