Hi m8, if you are looking for a speed pulse, then you are looking in the wrong place - the cossie speedos are cable, not pulse.
If you need a speed pulse, the best way is from the abs sensor (pick up from the plug to the ecu.
I have done this recently for a Blitz Boost controller that required a speed pickup. PM me if you need more help

Truth is, on the Blitz boost controller, you dont need to count the teeth - it has a self calibration mode, which counts teeth at a given speed, and works it out for itself. As such, I never counted!!
If you dont want to count them, the best way is to place a voltmeter on the wire from the gauge (easiest place is by the brain), and then when you have the right wheel, mark top of wheel, and get someone to slowly rotate whilst you count the number of nodules until the wheel has completed one revolution. Much more reliable than trying to count teeth which is ni-on impossible.
Hope this helps
