Default buying 2wd info reqd

Is this realistic, a mates looking to get a saph 2wd for £3000ish in good nick thats not going to die and needs loads of expensive work?

I personally think not but want to help my mate find a good un.

He has little mechanical skills so all maintenance would have to be carried out by either mates or at a garage

any positive feedback would be great.

i would say you need to spend at least £4-4.5k for a 'good' one

cosworth's can be very expensive if you cant any maintenance at all

4 - 4.5 k will get u a good one. to be honest you have to spend at least 5 - 6k to get a really nice one. well looked after. 3k will get you one that needs alot of work and a high mile one.

If u look LONG and VERY hard u might just find one. It will be standard, and maybe a few battlescars, but wait long enough, or get on ere and u could find a bargain, but take a good and trustworthy mechanic with u and get a truly honest opinion on each car....

You may be lucky and come across an OK one, but they are few and far between

I found one, bodys mint apart from one parking dent. Cars has now done 125000 miles, ive done around 4000 miles since i bought it. Its needed a few things doing but on the whole its sound! I use the car every day for work so it needs to be bang on. Just take your time and you will find one, good luck!!!!!
