i check mine every couple of thousand miles, go around the underneath with a torque wrench, and do a spanner check in the engine bay

lots since i lost my n/s/f wheel on a r/s turbo s2 at 80 mph on the a59 on my way to work ..its scary when you hear a bang look left and see your wheel bounce out the arch and fook of left..
..somebody could have died...just think if you see somebody trying to rob a set of wheels..

I must admit I DON'T really check it that often(only when I hear something loose)
BUT guess I should start NOW as components are certainly under alot more stress now
