Mk5 z-s driveshaft removal
Im having trouble removing the left hand driveshaft on my mk5 zs. I am following the haynes, which says to simply prise it out, but prise bars, crow bars etc are just bending, this thing is not moving haha! any advice on how to remove it? cheers
undo the hub nut with the car on the floor,
jack up and remove road wheel, undo ball joing bolt and pop out the ball joint.
sharp tug on the whole assembly will pull the inner cv out.
then smack the shaft out by hitting the thread left behind the hub nut (put a bit of wood over it to protect it)

More often than not this results in the inner CV joint falling to bits.
Undo the hub nut and make sure the shaft is free of the hub etc......
Then get the car up as high as you can (safely and securely) and use two crowbars either side of the CV joint where it goes into the box. This stops the joint from twisting, effectively jamming it. I get a mate to hold one bar whist I hit the other bar sharply with the bottom of my palm. Some of these joints can be particularly stubborn! Persevere it will go all of a sudden!
