Escort Mk4
Hi, Has anyone experience of fitting Power Steering to a Mk4. Just got it in, however the column is now angled round about 5 degrees clockwise due to the position that the kit's mounting brackets were welded on. Anyone any suggestions on how to correct this, I've already thought of enlarging the mounting hole to accommodate the welding error. Any ideas welcome.
Also looking for grey coloured Ghia rear door cards in good condition as mine are sun damaged.

I used a kit sold on ebay by davesimsmpw and while the kit does exactly what he claims seeing it in the flesh I realised that it is simple to make yourself. The kit uses a Vauxhall Corsa Steering Column along with a custom made control uniit that is also available on bay. If you get a spare manual steering column for your own car and the two parts I mentioned all you do is strip the Corsa Column so thst you only have the section with the ekectric motor and graft that into the soare manual column you have. Basically you are cutting the top of the Ford Column and welding that onto the top of the stripped down Corsa Column. My kit came with a modified oedal box s well though the modification consisted of removing one of the mounting studs. When I saw the kit I realised that I could have done it myself for a fraction of the price. That's no reflection on the kit, it does exactly wh is claimed for it and I can recommend it if that's the way you want to go. Hope this answer helps.
