Right, I don't know if any of these will help ? http://www.d-link.co.uk/?go=jN7uAYLx...LhJk8Vtejcboey

But other then turning on the encryption, and loading the host machine with as many firewall's as your system can handle, there's not much else you can do. I can connect to my next door neighbour's wireless setup, and he can connect to mine if he wanted to.

Not seen the encryption-pages for the DLink kit, but if you enable 128-bit WEP and enter the key into your router and computer(s), it's going to take your average person a few thousand years to crack it!

Add a MAC-Address access-list to that (if the router supports it), and you add another layer of security to make it harder for an "outsider" to gain access...

That's how I have my Vigor set up. But its interesting how few people seem to have grasped the security issue. I've been out driving round the village at night with my wireless lappy and its like a free access wireless hotspot. You can pretty much park up anywhere and get onto some poor sap's wireless internet connection to check your emails and download porn etc

I've had to deal with the other side of that kind of thing, though, in work!

People setting up a wireless connection, leaving it completely unprotected, and then having someone connect through it and try and hack servers, spread viruses, etc. The complaints from other internet-users used to come to me...
