Default Un installed AVG 9 and now windows won't load

After having grief with the AVG9 free and it slowing my desk top so much it almost stopped, I decided to un install it. Now windows XP won't boot up. I've tried starting it in safe mode and all the other modes but no good.

I can't find the recovery disc and I'm not even sure if one came with it. Its a HP Pavillion.

How do I get going again?

It'll get to the stage where it comes up windows xp home edition then turn itself off and then back on again.
I've tried starting it safe mode, back to last working order mode, safe mode with prompts, etc and it will just do the same thing each time.

I've just checked on HP's website and this model never came with a back up disc. It's on the pc already but I can't access it to amend anything on it.

Does that make sense?

Thanks for the link.

I'm really struggling to get it so it gets passed the windows logo, it just keeps re starting itself and does the same thing each and every time. I've hit F8 which gives windows advanced options menu but nothing on there gets it going again ....

How to access Last Known Good Configuration:
Reboot your computer while holding down the F8 Key. At the Advanced Options Menu select Last Known Good Configuration.

Tried that and it moves on to the windows xp page, then just re starts itself again. I've tried the other different modes like safe mode, safe mode with prompts, etc and they all up with the same above result
