Default Cable Internet...

Like you get with NTL etc....

How does it work? As you don't have a modem or phone line do you?

If you were to get internet via cable, would you be able to use a router in order to supply internet to numerous machines?

It comes in through a modem which you can then send through a router as i have done on telewest.

Okay, but I am guessing then that you get a cable that plugs into your modem to give the internet signal, and that the modem plugs into the PC via a USB (as most do)

How do you get it to a router then, when most of these accept ethernet/RJ-45 plugs?

I have cable running up my driveway, garden, and then up the side of my house into bedroom and into modem. Rj45 cable from modem to router. RJ45 cable from router to network port on PC.

got NTL here.

NTL comes in to thier modem.

modem is connected via ETHERNET to my router (not USB - which sucks for internet connection).

router is connected via ETHERNET to network card on PC.

so, as you have now guessed, the NTL modem has both USB and ethernet connections.
