Default I.E 7 Beta

Any XP users here running it yet? - I'm tempted to but that'll mean it replacing I.E 6, which is currently very stable

Wonderd if anyone is running it yet and what you think to it? - I know it'll be full of bugs being a beta

So - you didn't trouble shoot it at all? May have been something simple, I will be downloading it in work next week and running it up on the test bench before my users start on about upgrading to it - But I have some spare time this weekend so thought about installing it, the fact that it wont run side by side with I.E 6 is an issue on my own machine however.

No i didnt really know what to check to be honest and i need to get onto the net so i just deleted it and used i.e 6 agian.

Anyway if its just upgrading why should it mess about with all my net settings so nothing works?

Firefox is still better. IE7 still doesn't support the full complement of CSS.

Personal opinion is that Opera is the best browser. I've used it for years without issues and every page I've ever hit has displayed perfectly. And now its free

I was looking at Opera actually the other day and reading about it on a website but i think you only run it along side I.E because its built into windows so i dout that can be removed can it? in which case if its stuck on my pc then id rather just carry on using I.E

Just downloaded it in a matter of seconds Will put it on the laptop later and see what it's like. I use firefox on my main machine as it's much better for multiple website browsing IMO

Not sure what you mean. I use Opera all the time. I can remove it whenever I like. It doesn't require IE to run either. Give it a go, worst case scenario you think its poo and go back to IE

OK

I DON'T LIKE

The new toolbar layout, its too different from before and means I have to relearn some stuff I'd got used to

The lack of complete CSS support

The RSS feed setup is not as straightforward as Firefox with extensions.

The tab creation is slow compared to Firefox and Opera

Its a resource hog (Anyone ever used portable Firefox)

I DO LIKE

The colour of the buttons

The easy setup

The total support and compatibility it has with 99% of sites on the net

Oh, the colour of the buttons.

Cheers

Not found anything as yet. Speed seems ok, tabbed windows could do with speeding up.

just takes a while to get used to the different layout.

Other than that its fine so far.

I've just managed to get it installed on a test box...I didn't have any issues with the install. And I checked a few settings before hand to see if things had changed and they all appear to be ok, it even remembered the proxy setup

I agree with Adrian, it looks good, like the layout, tabbed windows will take some getting used to, and locating where things are now but a side from that it seems good Just a shame I can't lob it on my own machine at work (running Win2k ) I.E 6 has gone tits up and i'm using Fire Fox for now.

It will be interesting to see how well the rss feeds work, that will appeal to some of my users as I know they switched to using Fire Fox because of this.

If anyone's interested the official blog on I.E 7 is here : http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/

I'm using it fully now....well not quite fully, still on 2k @ work

Got it running at home now too, seems fairly stable so far, have had a couple of moment's so far but nothing too major! I seem to have found a bug with the 'anti-phishing' feature however....still waiting to see what happens.

Didn't think i'd like the tabbed windows but really is cool

Where you can open multiple pages with just one copy of i.e running and you can switch between each website just by clicking one of the tabs along the top, or you can use quick tabs.

Been using it on Home PC and works laptop. All is good at home love it! Has two of my favorite home pages load on start up Passionford and Ebay.

Different story for work. Alot of the telephone systems I work with work on Web based programming tools, Using IIS. Havent found it yet but when opening a large table for viewing for example Extension numbers after a while it gives a Page cannot be displayed. I'm seeing this as a time out issue on my PC not the connected equipment not sure if there is a timer any where?
Still love the tabs. Good effort iMo
