BEEFYS series 1 mk 3 cosworth project ....

ok folks , PLEASE READ IN FULL BEFORE COMMENTING ECT ;-)

right , considering selling my project , maybe a little hasty of me , but right now ive completely fell out of love with it and dont even want to look at the fucking thing at the moment ! ..

now the important bit , NOTE I AM CONSIDERING !! SELLING this is not a definitive for sale post , but if the asking price is offerd and the buyer is genuine then there is every chance it will go ,

im still waiting on a couple of key parts and some items will be going for powdercoating before the car goes , thus the buyer would have to wait 2-3 weeks to collect the car ...

if you havent been living in a cave for the past 2 years the shell should need no introduction ,

42 k from new mk 3 escort shell , 100% straight , converted to rwd rs cosworth using a 100% mint sierra floor pan , fully spotwelded and fitted to factory + finish money no object has had brand new wings and front panel , custom tubular crossmember , fully smoothed engine bay , removeable battery tray , modded front turrets to accept eccentric top mounts,

rear has been extensively modified utlising a custom boot floor factory rear inside wheel tubs removed and widend 3 inches to accomodate larger with rear wheels , chassis legs removed and moved inboard to suit wheel tubs then custom rear turrets were fitted with eccentric top mounts

underneath was then modified to accept a mk motorsport wrc rear cradle , fully rosejointed + adjustable lateral link rear setup , complete with billet alloy uprights ,

car was then stonechipped and painted in 2k stornoway grey underneath -inside - underside to concourse spec ...

exterior was then taken to gary richardson @ a&d autos for a full extensive exterior respray including the inside and outside of the body kit , inc custom alloy side skirt caps , all body kit was taken back to bare plastic to provide a 100 % top finish ......

You can't sell it, you promised me a passenger ride

Bottom line is that it's your motor and only you know what the score is, but just remember that you'll be kicking yourself harder than a one legged man in an arse kicking contest if you see someone else rolling round in it in a few years time.

CosworthGuy 28-07-2011 11:51 PM

I feel genuinely dissapointed that youre thinking of selling mate. Ive spoke to you abouit the car at a few car shows this year and you seemed so focused and enthusiastic about it. Lets hope its a blip as im sure it'd be a great car to own and drive. ive got a stage one 3 door and its nice but im sure yours would be lots more fun. Lets hope things get back on track and see it through to the end mate

7sean7m7 28-07-2011 11:58 PM

You will be gutted if you sold it im sure. All the work thats been put into it, sure you will realise and finish it yourself.

Webby`` 29-07-2011 12:20 AM

pics isnt working for me either...

JayCC 29-07-2011 02:14 AM

Sell it. Just get rid. Even thinking about it means your heart ain't in it. Hopefully someone will actually get it done. Waste really.

Personally, unless I had some serious personal or financial issues, i'd just get on with it, and stop being a girl.

Get it done and stop whinging. ;)

Psycho Warren 29-07-2011 04:14 AM

beefy your more insane than me!!

stevealien 29-07-2011 06:17 AM

DrewSS 29-07-2011 06:40 AM

As above beefy youl hang yourself within 3years if you let this go, i was really hoping to see this at Ford Fair as a surprise for the show and all your updates would be a rouse to keep us guessing. lets just hope if it does go it goes to a good home

Lee Reynolds 29-07-2011 07:16 AM

Get it finished ya loon!

dojj 29-07-2011 07:24 AM

its prob cos they have pumped so much money into they dont have enough left to finish it to a level they will be happy with. Also the time its taken and your priorities change ;)

This is why i broke my moonstone 3dr as didnt want to do a rebuild on it and im trying to keep my sensible head with the saff im building.

Beefy's car has had a lot of work done but i personally think it needs to be complete for it to sell at the price.

DazS1Turbo 29-07-2011 10:10 AM

Keep it and finish it

I get the impression you've had a lot of mates help you out with it and probably for free, shurly you owe it to them to complete the project? i could be wrong on that though!

If it's a cash issue put it away for a year or too then come back and get it finished

You'd really regret parting with such a top quality shell it would eat you up to see someone else buy it, finish it and milk the lime light.

Stash it away for a month or 2 and think about it after a break! :-)

i think 11k is steep you never get back what you put into projects

whizzisat114 29-07-2011 10:44 AM

It'll be a real shame if you do sell it beef :-(
But needs must.
Your priorities have changed now with your little girl coming along and i can see why you'd want to sell it now but have a good long think about it.
Hope your all well :-)
