There is a new virus doing the rounds at the moment which causes the machine to close down (I've seen it on a few systems in the last week) - not the DCOM ones that shut down after 60 seconds, this one shuts down immediately
Apparently it is spread by MSN messenger though so might just be a coincidence?

Can't remember the name of it though
