Dont forget at the top of the gearbox there is a breather, if the box has too much oil in, it's not unusual to get some oil on the floor. This can contimue for several days until the excess oil has been "thrown out".........then it stops.

Get the car on a ramp and look for signs of the oil coming from quite high up (top of g/box and driping down........
