dont do it up to tight, if not it will push out, the only two types are the 2 piece sump gasket early engines or the 1 piece later engines, 89 will be later,

i used a piece of mig wire wrapped through the gasket and through the block, then just push the sump in place and do a few bolts up then just snip the wire out

can be a tricky job though
