If the wrong amont has been taken - regardless of whether the fault is with the payee or the Bank - call your bank and ask them to refund the money under the terms of the Direct Debit Guarantee. This guarantees a full and immediate refund.

Of course, if the contract allows amounts to change and they have simply adjusted a payment, you can't use this.
