If the cars got a cat then the tappets are hydraulic. The 2.9 is inlet, 0.35mm
exhaused, 0.40mm - it should be on a strut top.

If its got high mileage then taking into consideration wear its best to play it by ear anyway concerning the clearances and not stick spot on to those figures- Infact if you can't hear the tappets then they are too tight, consesus is that for them to run decently you need to slightly hear them!

Too tight and the valves wont 100% close where they should.
