If you can drive a screwdriver down the groove it may help. The nut is peened over into this hole.

Also the next step would be to get something to extend your 3 ft breaker bar with. I sometimes use my big trolley jack handle or a piece of scaffolding pole.

As Rich says though sometimes they are left hand threaded on one side. You can usually tell by looking at it.
