Sorry fellas , but i test drove one about 2 weeks ago and it was TOTAL SHIT , slow as fook
Drove very nice , but thats about it , total crap inside , and very slow
The car i drove was 100% std tho and i know when played with the do go better but i was not converted at all , I know they are a modern car and more reliable etc etc and do look great , BUT they will never hold there money like a cossie , but also wont break down like one either ,
I still might try a played with one tho and see if that changes things
You are right mate, standard they are slugs if you are used to more power. But who would have a standard one?!
The best bit about them is the easy tuneability up to circa 370bhp (and then they don't feel like a slug

) You can get near 400bhp (some have got this) on the std evo 6 turbo. All you need for 350bhp+ is Apexi power FC (£500), poss better boost controller than the PFC's control (£200 2nd hand avcr), exhaust (£200 2nd hand), decent induction kit (£100 2nd hand). Most will have at least an exhaust and decent filter, then it's just a case of ECU and boost control.
And they are quick cars with circa 350bhp and very reliable with it.
Tell me what you'd think if you test drove a std evo 6 then test drove a std escort cossie? (btw I'm not knocking the cossie, it's just you'd die of boredom in a std cossie quicker than a std evo

)
