Today people i will invite you into how to fit a breather kit


1 - remove camcover and damaged gasket to reveal the dry sump conversion that you never knew you had




2 - Use a syrynge and piece of vaacume pipe to remove all the oil from the sparkplug trays, and then use suitable mopping up items to get the last of it, Clean sparkplugs in white spirits or petrol




3 - While the camcover is off, this is a very good time to fit your breather kit. Drill thru the camcover at the rear where the cast circle is and then tap using a 3/4 BSP first tap to start the thread, Make sure your taps are spotlessly clean and apply grease to collect any swarf and also to act as a cutting lubericant.








4 - Once you have run thru with a first tap, clean out any swarf using whatever you want, and then run a plug tap down the hole.






5 - Now clean the plug tap untill there is NO swarf on it at all, and then run it dry down the hole from the top of the camcover - this will remove any small deposits of swarf in the threads - as pictured on the tap






6 - Screw in your 3/4 BSP tail and use a suitable sealer on the threads to stop oil passing them - i used an extremely thin layer of Sikaflex - this will garantee any oil NOT getting past



IT IS IMPERITIVE TO CLEAN ALL OF THE CAMCOVER INSIDE TO REMOVE ANY TRACES OF SWARF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


7 - Refit camcover using a NEW gasket and then pipe everything up - as you can see, mine isn't quite finished, as i am waiting on silicone hose
