Have you tried the DVLA to see if the old girl is still on the road or not? I think there is a good chance it might be gone as the D plate ones were renowned for rotting badly.

Option 2 would be to go to www.rsownersclub.co.uk, see if there is a S2 register, then ask if the one above is on it !
