If the engine has borderline pinking/det issues, then there may well be some gains - det restricts power drastically, and by moving out of the det region with higher octane fuel will reduce those losses and improve power under the same conditions.
But if this is the case, then it wasn't mapped safely for 95 fuel in the first place
