Nope, your absolutely right its not at all ideal, and needs to be a special oil resistant lined type. That stub was there to stop the flushing oil pouring out of the breather return when i filled it to get some oil pressure and fill the followers etc. The owner will use his own pipe when he installs the engine. There are a few clips to be changed as well before the owner collects her.
