Where you say you have modified this, do you mean you have fitted the Sierra 4x4 throttlevalve? (this is a common conversion)

Either way, have you cleaned out the throttle valve and opening to the inlet manifold? They are prone to getting very clogged up around this area and need a good clean with carb spray every so often.

Also, does the new airhose flex or is it very stiff? I ask because many still have the original (or replacement) 20 year old hose fitted, and most of them by now have dried and stiffened, this often causes them to crack and split between the ridges, you cant often see the cracks when its fitted as the ridges are so close together but its defo worth checking.
